Our Strategic Journey
Our three-phase strategic journey is designed to best position us to support the business to achieve Ambition 2030. Our aim is to deliver value at scale, deliver excellence through innovation and develop Finance talent. We are well advanced towards the end of Phase two – standardization and automation, with a focus on delivering a further step change in efficiency, quality, and cost of service.
In September 2022, Group Controllers and Global Finance Services joined together as One Team. The Group Controllers are the financial stewards of AstraZeneca. They deliver financial reporting to our internal and external stakeholders, underpinned by robust risk management and financial controls and compliance.
Together as One Team, we deliver Group Financial Reporting, Group Financial Compliance, Controls, and key transactional activity for the entire company through One Plan in One Way.
Our focus centers around three key priorities to support the delivery of our strategic goals and long-term vision. They create a strong foundation to enable the adoption and exploitation of future technological advancements.

What we do
In Global Finance Services, we provide global finance expertise, delivering value-added finance services at scale. Acting as a hub, we manage Order to Cash, Purchase to Pay, Record to Report, Controlling, Compliance, Tax planning, Forecasting and Management Reporting. We support all marketing companies, manufacturing plants, research & development and enabling functions.
Leveraging digital capabilities and data, we deliver value-added solutions, maintain high-quality standards, provide actionable insights, and ensure effective oversight.
